Application Process

Step 1

Once we receive an interest form from your academic supervisor and have determined that you are eligible, we will send you an application form to complete.

Step 2

Complete an application form. In addition to a completed application form, we will need proof of your academic qualifications, your work history, proof of South African citizenship or permanent residency and references.

Step 3

Attend an interview. During the interview, we will find out more about why you want to be part of NextGen, your interests, ideas and motivations.

We also want to understand your background better so that we ensure that you receive the best possible training and support during the programme.

Step 4

Apply to a university. We recommend that you complete your university and NextGen application at the same time. A formal bursary offer will only be made when you can provide proof that you have been accepted at a university.

Step 5

Accept an offer. If you are selected, you will benefit from access to a full bursary, professional skills development, as well as ongoing support from the NextGen team.
